Anyways, dogmom wanted us to tell all of you to consider adopting a "shelter" dog (or cat or rabbit or other animal). She understands and identifies with the whole purebred thing, but there are so many dogs that need homes not because of their own mistakes, but because humans were irresponsible in some way.
- Humans that didn't spay or neuter their pet.
- Humans that moved away and left their pet at home or in the park (like Opie).
- Humans that dumped the pets they didn't want in a dumpster (like me, Gomer).
- Humans that thought having a pet would be fun and not taking the time to properly train or interact with them.
Or, even humans that couldn't afford their pet... although this one she can accept a little more since you never know what might come up in life.
Here's a listing of all the rescue organizations that were at the Twin Cities Pet Expo. Visit one if it's in your heart and pick somebody to provide a forever home to. Or, some of the local shelters are included in the PetFinder.com window at the bottom of our blog. (You can click in there and type in your own zip code if you want.)

Hi! We came to visit your blog. We are three dachshunds. Two of us are rescue and the girl is from a breeder before Mom found the rescue group. We love all rescue-ers because they have big hearts. We will try to stop by again another time. Just wanted to let you know we were here.

Hi Roxie, Sammy & Andy and welcome to DogsAyeView. Glad you found us!
We wuf dachsies! We have a number of dachsie friends online... Rusty and Roo and you guys and gals. We also have some dachsie friends we know in dogson in AZ -- Stevie and Sammie. They live with dogmom's friend Tom and used to visit at the bark park and at dogmom's house with us!
Gasp! Where's the Collie rescue????
They're there, Tosca! Minnesota-Wisconsin Collie Rescue.
I think there's only one for both states because Collie owners are a lot more responsible (snicker) than all the other breed owners... Opie says it's cuz Collies are perfect and don't need to be rescued...
Well I ain't too sure about my human being responsible but the part about being perfect sure is the truth!
Besides, why be rescued when you can just jump the fence and leave all by yourself!
Tee hee... we read about your little ESCAPE-ade... you and Opie are soulmates!
(I have trouble with the jumping thing... as you can see by today's entry on DogsAyeView...
