We've been playing with dogmom for the past week and wondering why she's at home talking to people and working on the 'puter. Not that we mind... it means more ear rubs and tummy rubs and snacks and treats for us. Aaaannnndddd... we still have been going to Dog Pad to run and play.
Tory is helping dogmom to train Opie on some better obedience skills. He seems to be getting it and actually listening more. Dogmom says she knew he was smart... so smart he didn't think he had to listen to anybody.
Anypaws, he actually (sometimes) will heal and will come when he's called and sit-stay. Dogmom and Tory can open the door and tell him to stay and he actually does, until they walk out the door... then sometimes he thinks he should follow them even if they didn't ask him to.
But, it's a lot better than he was a few weeks ago when he went galavanting around the neighborhood chasing that squirrel for four hours.

My Turn!
Yo. Opie here.
I'm kind of getting tired of all this attention that the Gimp is getting just because he's a clutz and can't seem to stay upright when he's racing or running or, well, walking for that matter.
So... today is about me. I wanted to show you just how far I've come in training the dogmom to get me to come when she calls me. The video can be accessed with the button on the top left of our blog... or you can click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHbEIAsHx1E

By the way, don't blame me when you get a stiff neck watching it... the dufus dogmom can't figure out how to rotate the video! See what I have to live with?

Fun Fried-day?
We're fried. Exhausted. Tired.
We walked Randi down the back trail yesterday instead of down the sidewalk in the neighborhood. She wasn't walking fast enough or in the directions that Opie and I wanted to walk, so we essentially tugged her down the trail for 20 minutes.
And then we did our business and dragged her back home.
At least that's what she wrote in her note to dogmom. See, she writes a note every time she comes. They're in cahoots, I tell ya. We never know what she's writing. And, we can't read it -- um, not because we can't read... but because she leaves the note on the book on top the counter and we can't SEE it.
Well... then when dogmom came home, she read the note. And she got that funny tone on her voice like, you know, the noises the parents make on the Charlie Brown shows. Yup. I know you dogs know what I'm talking about.
So, dogmom takes us outside on our leashes. And, she starts down the trail. And, we're thinking, "Yay! We getta go on the trail!," ya know? Well. Hardly. Dogmom started in on this whole, "No tugging!" thing... and kept stopping... or, worse yet, stopping and turning around and going the other way. What's that all about? Geesh. We hate it when she does that.
So, we didn't actually get to walk down the trail. We walked the same unsmelly 50 feet back-and-forth, back-and-forth, back and forth. After 20 or 30 minutes or so, she said we weren't behaving and you know what she did? Huh, do ya?
She took us back inside! Hmmmmppphhh!
