Yucky White Stuff...
Yo Dawgs!
It's back. I mean, I'm so flustered about it that I don't know what to do. I thought Gomey and I chased it away for good. But, alas! It showed up again last night while I was sleeping.
I'm not sure what to do. Gomey always helped me out with this. DogMom is trying... but it's just not the same at all.
Anybody know what I can do to make the wet, cold, fluffy white stuff to get off my grass so I can go potty?
I mean... well, it's not so bad right now. It's more just like a blanket on top of the grass and you can see bits of grass peeking through the holes in the blanket. But, remember, it seems to always want to go get its friends and then, before we know it, there is tons of the stuff piled all over.
Help me!
Chase ya later... but I'm gonna go hide under a blanket now.

Big Mac's = Big Trouble!
Hi Dawgs! Opie here.
I'm posting today to ask for your help. Cuz I'm in doggie jail. Well, not really... today I'm going to Dog Pad... but I might as well be in doggie jail with dogmom 'cuz I made her mad I think.
See, dogmom has had us on this diet thing. Dr. Kate says we look perfect now. Other people who knew us when we were fatter say that we look too skinny. I weigh about 48 pounds and so does Gomer. Dogmom says I can't say how much she weighs -- not that I know anyways -- but she beat both Gomer and me in our diets because she lost 21 pounds so far and I lost 7 and Gomer lost 12.
Anyways, that's not why I'm posting.
See, dogmom brought home a Big Mac the other night. You know what those are, right? They're really really bad for you because they're loaded with calories and fat and salt. We never ever get to eat them and dogmom doesn't eat them hardly ever either. But she really wanted a Big Mac after losing 21 pounds and so she bought one.
Then, she brought it home. She came inside and she put this fantastic smelling bag on top of the fridge. And she gave Gomer and me our dog food in our bowls. Some Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice formula with some Hill's Prescription Diet t/d on top. Yum!
And she went upstairs to give Floyd whatever it is that she gives him. We don't know because we still don't get to go into the upstairs bathroom when he's in there.
Anypaws, while she was upstairs, I just had to investigate what that smell was on top of the fridge. First, I just tried to stand up and stretch really far. But I couldn't see it. So, then, I jumped up on the counter and tried to sniff it out. But I couldn't reach it. So then, I put my front paws on top of the fridge and left my back paws on the counter. But I still couldn't reach the bag. But I sure could smell it now.
And it smelled really good. Better than Nutro and t/d even. So I had to get closer.
So, I put my hind legs up on top of the fridge. And I got the bag and I stuck my nose in. And I opened the cardboard box that was holding my treat. Did I mention that I love it when dogmom makes getting the treat a game for me? Well, I do.
So, I was really happy with this situation. I was getting challenged and I thought I was doing pretty good at figuring out what it was that she wanted me to do. I had figured out how to get on the counter and how to get onto the fridge. Heck, I had even figured out how to get the bag and the box open. And, now I was getting my reward.
Then, I heard dogmom say, "Hi, Gomer! What a good boy sitting at the bottom of the steps... but where's Opie?"
Uh-oh. I think Gomer bark-narked on me.
Dogmom came downstairs and I froze. I mean, what could I do? I had lettuce hanging out of my mouth and the top of the fridge isn't big enough to hide very well when you're standing on it.
Dogmom was not very happy. She did that "Ooooooooohhhhhh-peeeeeeeee!" thing. Then, she went... "Noooooooooooo!" and a couple other words that I can't repeat.
She kept mumbling something about me getting sick and onions are bad and geesh, I'll probably get pancreatitis from the amount of fat in that. I think that's all good because it sure tasted yummy.
So, I don't get it. Why does she leave me these special treats and games if she just gets upset when I figure them out?

Eight Things About Us!
Thanks to Ike, our Minnesota dogblogging Boston Terrier buddy, for tagging us ... we were beginning to think nobody loved us any more! Anyways, here are eight things you probably didn't know about each of us...
8 Secrets About Gomer
8 Secrets About Gomer
- My favorite song of all time is “Who Let the Dogs Out” by Baha Men. Whenever I hear it playing I stand up and dance, dance, dance!
- My favorite movies of all time are “Homeward Bound” and “Lady and The Tramp.” If dogmom puts one of those in the VCR, I stop whatever I’m doing and watch the whole movie from beginning to end.
- When I was a little puppy, my favorite “safe place” was in the space underneath the night stand in dogmom’s bedroom. Even when I got too big to hide in there, I would squeeze and contort my body so that just one foot hung out.
- Like Ike, sometimes I snore so loud that dogmom moves me … or kicks me off the bed completely.
- I’m very afraid of Boxers… even though some of my bestest blogging buddies are Boxers, when I see one in dogson, I freak out and get scared and try to run away. And Maltese dogs kinda freak me out, too, ‘cuz I mistake them for rabbits until I get close enough to smell them.
- When I start barking and dogmom says, “Whisper,” I do.
- I like to steal Opie’s chew bone when he gets up to get a drink and eat the liver out of the middle and then let him have it back.
- These are all related, so I’m counting them as one thing ...
- My canine teeth on my right side are both broken off and had root canals.
- During my very first root canal surgery, I woke up and tried to jump off the table before Dr. Visser was done working on my tooth.
- I have to go see Dr. Kate again next week to have another broken tooth taken out.
8 Secrets about Opie
- My favorite song of all time is “Fur Elise.” When it’s playing on the CD or dogmom’s cell phone, I fall asleep. If I'm really anxious (like during big boomies storms) and dogmom turns that song on, I'm better ... even if I still hide behind the curtain in the bathtub.
- I like to sit on the couch backwards and lay my head on the back of the couch and look out the window and dream about one day learning to fly and catching some of those birds and squirrels out there.
- I absolutely refuse to come when called unless what’s being offered is better than what I’m doing at that moment – and what is considered better changes every moment, too, so that dogmom has to keep trying new stuff.
- I sleep with my eyes open.
- I love to run … even when I’m not supposed to be running ... but I love to convince humans to play “Catch Me If You Can” even more.
- I especially like cats and children and little dogs … German Shepherds kind of scare me.
- When I start barking and dogmom says, “Whisper,” I bark louder and louder. She has to say, "Wanna go in your crate?" to get me to stop.
- I lay down in the corner of the room and whine and talk until dogmom figures out what I want her to do (sometimes it takes a long time!), especially when I want her to make Gomer give me my chew bone back!
So, those are 8 things about us that you probably didn't know yet. We're tagging Niko, Max and Amy at One Dog and Two Birds blog -- they just started blogging this month! (See their blog at www.balashankar.wordpress.com!)

What Breed of Dog is Your Human?
Welcome to Friday Fun Day... which means we don't have anything specific to bark about, so we're making something up or stealing from somedog else...
That, and we're STILL waiting to find out what breed Opie is.
Dogmom has had this link in her arsenal for a long time... help your human(s) to figure out how to take the quiz and post your findings in our comments section. We wanna see what kind of dogs you're all living with.
Our dogmom is a Great Dane. Here's the link:

April Snow?
We're thinking we need to tell Dogmom to move back to Arizona... we didn't have this stuff outside... well, once we did... but we definitely didn't have it in April!
