HI everydog!
We just heard the news that the fundraising through IMOM.org has Gemi's surgery cost at the "All Funds Raised" level! This means that Randi can schedule the surgery!!! Wonderful animal angels across the world (including some DogsAyeView readers!) donated money for Gemi's surgery.
The funds will pay the low estimate for the surgery. Hopefully, the costs won't be more than that! So put your paws together that that is the case!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to everyone from Dogs' Aye View who sent some monies in!
If you missed Gemi's fundraiser and you still feel compelled to donate, IMOM.org is dedicated to removing the financial burden that keeps pets in pain or in need of medical attention from getting the care that they need. This weekend is an excellent example of the work that they do...
Gemi has waited almost a year for Randi to raise the funds for her surgery. Randi, who single-handedly works two jobs to live with and care for her ailing parents, had managed to raise about $800 in that time.
This weekend - with your help - IMOM.org raised $1200 to get to the estimated $2000 cost for the surgery! That is totally PAWSOME, don't you think? We do.
We just have one more request.
Would everyone who reads this and has a blog or a Web site please put up a link to IMOM.org on their site? We've got to help spread the word about this fantastic volunteer-run organization! For 10 years, they've been helping to pay for surgery, medical care or medications for animals that wouldn't get it otherwise.
Oh yeah... Randi will be putting updates on IMOM.org regarding the status of Gemi's surgery -when it will be and how it went - so you can stay posted if you want!

KWC Keen Eyes - Double Dates
Ok. Ok.
So, while we were busy eating dogmom's chocolate that she bought for the people at Pet Crossing for taking such good care of us at our annual exams (we'll post about that soon)... the Key West Collies were actually reading the posts about Gemi and the updates on IMOM.org.
Know what they found out? Huh? Do Ya?
Well, being the perfect Collies that they are, they found out that any monies donated for Gemi's surgery through IMOM.org's donation page here (put "GF-Gemi Raymond" in your note/memo line) will be matched through SATURDAY! Not just one day like dogmom thought. But all day yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Double your donation! Every dollar helps!
Thanks!!!

More Information about Gemi
Hi dawgs!
I got approval to post links to Gemi's content pages on IMOM.org, who is also helping with fundraising to enable Gemi to get her surgery. If you donate through IMOM.org, the donation may be tax deductible. You can use a number of different payment methods, too. Be sure to note "GF-Gemi Raymond" in your payment note field.
First, a little background on IMOM.org. They are a wonderful organization, completely run by volunteers, that raises and provides funds for animals that need emergency treatment, surgery or chronic-care medications that the owner cannot afford. IMOM's (In Memory of Magic)background/history/mission can be read here.
You can read specific information about Gemi here and daily updates from Randi about how she is doing and progress we're making in her fundraising here.
If you're moved to donate, your donation through the IMOM.org web site may be tax deductible. You can donate here.
If you're hesitant to donate online, you could send a check directly to Pet Crossing Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic. This is not tax deductible, but will go directly to Gemi's surgery and aftercare costs if you put "For Gemi Raymond/Randi Raymond Account" in the memo line of your check. Send the check to:
Pet Crossing Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic
10861 Bloomington Ferry Road
Bloomington, MN 55438
Phone: 952-884-8248
Also, Lake Minnetonka Pet Sitters, where Randi works and how we met her 'cuz she was Gomer & Opie's pet sitter/dogwalker before I lost my job, is doing a fundraiser during July. A portion of any mid-day dog walks or home visits scheduled with Randi during the month of July will be sent to Pet Crossing to help defer the cost of surgery. Contact Jody (info at tonkapetsitters dot com) at LMPS if you want information about scheduling a visit or two.
Thanks in advance for every dollar you can help with. Or, for your thoughts and prayers if that is all you can contribute!

Shhhh... TELL EVERYDOG!
Ok. We're not supposed to tell anybody about this. "Dogmumm's" the word, so to speak. We know that all our dogblogging buddies can keep a secret and not tell anybody, right?
So... here's the deal.
We overheard dogmom saying that she's thinking about not buying us treats and toys on our birthdays (coming up!) this year. Instead, she's thinking about doing something that will help the doggies and kitties that need stuff ... like toys and treats and, well, frankly, like homes and people to love them. And people who will drive them to places like Dog Pad and Pet Crossing and bark parks and stuff. And people who will hire people like Jennifer and Randi to take their dogs out when they're going to be working long days.
Anypaws... we digest.
What we're trying to do is tell you to tell everydog and everycat and even everyhampster and everybunny you know to do something on our birthdays... without actually telling you to do it. Cuz if we tell you to do it, then we'll get in trouble cuz we didn't keep the secret.
Here's what you gotta do. You gotta mark your day planners and calendars and fire hydrants or whatever else will help you remember these dates: April 1 and May 1. Those are our birthdays (or at least close approximations of the day we were pupped.) I, Gomer, will be 8 years old on April 1. Opie will be 8 years old on May 1.
Anypaws... For every visitor to our blog on our birthdays, dogmom is going to donate 10 cents to a homeless dog or cat in need. EVERY visitor, whether they leave a comment or not.
Here's the best part, though. Every comment on our blog on our birthdays means she's going to donate 25 cents to homeless pets. Can you believe it?
It might be sponsorship of a senior pet (since we're seniors now, she says... we think we still look like dogs, though.) It might be helping with surgery costs for an animal that needs some. She hasn't exactly decided yet.
That's it. That's the secret. If you visit our blog on our birthdays, dogmom will spend even more of her own money on an animal that needs it than she usually does.
Don't forget! April 1st (that's a Tuesday) and May 1st (that's a Thursday). Visit our blog. Leave a comment. Help an animal in need.
And, in case you're wondering... we're not upset that she's not going to get us toys and treats for our birthdays. Know why? 'Course you do...
We know she's going to get us stuff anyways!

Look! More Triathlon Photos!
Hey dogs!
'Member a couple of weekends ago when we went to the Minnesota Iron Dog Triathlon and we got our medals for finishing (even though Opie only thought he got wet swimming...)?
Well, we got these pictures in email from Jody at Lake Minnetonka Pet Sitters. We actually were on the LMPS team for the triathlon.
Anypaws... look how handsome and gorgeous Jody's dogs Tobie and Pete look wearing their medals...

And, even better... here is a picture of Randi! You remember Randi - she's baaaaaacccccckkkkk!
Anypaws, Randi is holding her puppy Teddy (the big boy) and her dad is holding Gemi (the petite one) just before they went swimming!

She's Baaaaaacccccckkkkkk!
So, just when we thought that life couldn't get any better... guess what?
It did!
Yeah, we complain sometimes that dogmom hogs the computer and she smells like other pets when she comes home... But, for the most part, we got it pretty good here. Sure beats the dumpster... and Opie says it beats being left in the park, too.
Anypaws. Guess what!
Randi came back today! Yup. We were really surprised. She came in and let us out in the back yard to go potty. Can you believe it?
Dogmom said she can't walk us any more because we tug too hard and we hurt Randi's back. But, she can come and hook us to our tie-out cables and let us go potty and pet us and give us treats and stuff like that.
We'll take it.
Wuf Ya!

Hey Dogs!
Today, we get to go to Dog Pad again. We wuf Tory at Dog Pad. I can hardly wait to get out of the truck when I see the big Dog Pad puppy-wagon come to pick us up for doggie day care.
We'll probably be too exhausted to post tonight... 'cuz we run and play and chase balls and dig holes and run and play some more all day long. Tory told dogmom that the pools are still out... but it rained last night so we're hoping to just lay in the big mud puddles if we can find one.
Dogmom said to not forget to tell you that Opie did really well during the boomies and lightflashes last night. He hardly shook or got scared at all this time. He did run over and lay down on dogmom one time, but I think it was by accident. He didn't see her watching Craig Ferguson on the TV while she was laying on the couch.
Tomorrow is our big day at the park for Top Dog Foundation's Minnesota Iron Dog Triathlon. Dogmom says to say a prayer that we will be nice to the other dogs and people so that we can stay and have fun. We think that's silly. 'Course we'll be good - Jody and Randi and everybody from Lake Minnetonka Pet Sitters are going to be there!

Could It Be True?
Could what dogmom is telling us be true? Really, I mean?
She said that Randi's coming today to take us for a walk. Ok, that's pretty normal. Randi from Lake Minnetonka Pet Sitters (www.tonkapetsitters.com) comes to take us for a walk a couple of times a week. We really like Randi... even when she makes us walk nice and not tug her down the trail...
But, dogmom said that in addition to Randi coming today... tomorrow (she keeps emphasizing it), we're gonna go to Tory's house, aka Dog Pad (www.dogpaddogs.com). Can you believe it?
We get extra belly rubs and hugs.
We get special chew bones.
We haven't been in jail for weeks.
Randi's coming today to take us for a walk.
AND!!!!
We get to go to Dog Pad tomorrow!
Wow! Do we have the bestest doglife on earth, or just what?
